The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Burns Service cares for children aged 15 years and under with acute and post-acute burn injuries.
Patients with burn injuries are usually cared for on Platypus and Possum wards. Other clinical areas are also involved in care of children with burns including the Emergency Department, Operating Theatres, Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Specialist Clinics.
The burns outpatient clinic operates three times a week.
Monday: 9am – 12pm (Multidisciplinary) Wednesday: 9:30am – 12pm (Multidisciplinary) Friday: 1:30pm – 4pm (Nursing, Surgical & Physiotherapy)
